COBRA
Supporting Coleraine rowers: past, present and future

Yesterday we held our boat naming ceremony, bringing our ‘Rowing into the Community’ project, in partnership with Sport NI’s Olympic Legacy Fund, to a close.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout at the rowing club as we officially welcomed our new boats and ergometers to the boathouse. It was a great opportunity to celebrate what has been a fantastic project and the investment it represents in the future of rowing at Coleraine Grammar School.

As was said many times yesterday, none of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of the hundreds of people who supported our fundraising campaign.

Overall COBRA purchased 2x Kanghua quadruple sculls, a WinTech Touring quadruple scull, a set of octuple scull riggers for one of our eights, 11x Concept2 Ergometers and 12 pairs of new oars.

The boats were named by a number of sponsors including David Woodend (Bann Power) and Stephen Vandevyver (iCare Opticians).

Thank you to everyone who donated, supported and helped make this project a reality. We genuinely appreciate your generosity and continued support.
